When to use it
Use a voice message form for customer stories, community questions or messages for a celebration. People record in their browser without an app or account, or upload audio or type instead.
Make it your own
- Ask a focused question. Give people something specific to talk about.
- Choose a recording length. This template starts at one minute. Free allows up to one minute, and Creator up to ten. See voice question settings.
- Keep contact details relevant. Name and email are optional; require email if you need to reply to everyone.
- Explain the next step. Use the thank-you page to say whether you’ll respond.
Put the answers to work
Share a link or QR code, or embed the form on your website. Listen, download recordings and read typed answers in Responses. Test a message on your phone before sharing; see microphone troubleshooting if needed.
Questions about voice message forms
Do people need an account to leave a voice message?
No. People open your link in their browser and answer there. They don’t need an app or a whatayarn account.
Can people type instead of recording?
Yes. This template lets people upload an audio file or type their message instead, so nobody is stuck if their microphone isn’t working. You can turn either option off in the voice question’s settings.
How long can a voice message be?
Up to one minute on Free and up to ten minutes on Creator. You can set a shorter limit for each voice question.
Is the voice message template free?
Yes. Templates and voice questions are included on Free, with unlimited forms and responses. Free includes 100 MB of storage for recordings, files and form images, and Creator includes 50 GB.
