A Q&A gives your audience a clear reason to send a question. You can answer in a video, newsletter, live session, or podcast. Choose the format first, then leave time to collect and review questions before preparing your answers.
Set the brief and deadline
Choose a theme and give people a date by which to send a question. Put the same information on your page and beside the link wherever you share it. This is a deadline you manage; it does not schedule or close the page automatically.
Ask for one question per recording. Explain the length limit and whether you may play their voice or read the question yourself.
Review before preparing your answers
Open your inbox (opens in a new tab) and bookmark possible questions. Check that you can understand the audio and that the question fits your theme. Read any sender details or custom answers you asked for.
Group similar questions in your notes without changing the meaning of someone’s contribution. Check the sender’s expectations before sharing their name, voice, or other details.
Prepare a shortlist
Check each selected question
The question is understandable without private background information.
The sender’s expectations about use are clear.
The question fits your chosen format and the time or space available.
You have noted the answer you want to give and downloaded any audio you plan to use.
Close the loop
Share the answers where you said you would: publish the newsletter, release the video or episode, or cover the questions in your live session. Tell your audience where to find them and what the next theme will be. You can update the page’s welcome text while keeping the public link stable.
whatayarn collects and organises the recordings. You select the questions and prepare the response in your usual writing, recording, or presentation tools. If you are including the audio in a podcast, see Make messages part of your show.
